Bus and rail in Düsseldorf ↑
The tram routes U78 (Merkur-Spiel-Arena/Messe Nord) and the U79 (Messe Ost), and the bus route 722 all travel directly and comfortably to the Messe. Essential connection points in Düsseldorf are the “Hauptbahnhof” (main railway station) and the “Heinrich-Heine-Allee”. Almost all the destinations in Düsseldorf are reachable from there.
The Rheinbahn service U78 commutes between the U-Bahn (underground rail) tram stops “Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof“ and the “Merkur-Spiel-Arena/Messe Nord”.
For the night birds in Düsseldorf, the U79 commutes as a Nacht Express (night express) from/to the tram stops “Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof” and “Messe Ost/Stockumer Kirchstrasse”, alternatively “Freiligrathplatz”. From there, a 10 to 15 minute walk will take you to the entrance Messe-Ost, or Messe-Nord, respectively. The U79 must be used at the main commuter times (mornings and evenings), as the capacity of the U78 will be insufficient.
Bus service 722
The bus service 722 commutes daily from the Hauptbahnhof to the Messe and back from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except Sundays). Get off at bus stops “Messe Ost” or “Messe Süd/CCD”.
Airport (Flughafen) shuttle bus 896
For visitors arriving by air, the shuttle bus service 896 is available from Thursday to Sunday. It can be used free of charge with the participant’s pass, and commutes between 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 15 minute intervals. Departure from the airport is the bus stop at the arrivals level, opposite park house P2. The request bus stop at the Messe is at Eingang Nord (North entrance), Beckbuschstrasse.
