The New Apostolic Church

The New Apostolic Church (NAC) is a worldwide Christian Church. Its doctrine is based upon the Holy Scripture. It is the fourth largest church in Germany, beside the Catholic Church, the Evangelical Church and the Orthodox Church, with around 345,000 members. About nine million Christians worldwide profess to the New Apostolic faith.

 

Structure ↑

New Apostolic Christians belong to a district Church, which is responsible for the region in which they live. Generally speaking, a number of district Churches are grouped within a District Apostle region. The Church worldwide has 18 such District Apostle regions. As the title suggests, these regions are led by District Apostles. The Church, in its entity, is under the ecclesiastical leadership of the Chief Apostle.

Jean-Luc Schneider is the head of the Church since Pentecost 2013. As Chief Apostle, he leads the Church from its head office in Zurich.

Faith ↑

New Apostolic Christians believe in the Triune God, in Jesus Christ, as the incarnate God, in His sacrificial death, in His resurrection and in His return, in the Church as the means of imparting salvation, in the sending of the Apostles and in the sacraments as expressions of God’s saving love and care.

Vision ↑

The vision of the New Apostolic Church is a church in which people feel at home and, inspired by the Holy Spirit and their love for God, align their lives to the gospel of Jesus Christ and thus prepare themselves for His return and eternal life.

Mission ↑

Reaching out to all people in order to teach them the gospel of Jesus Christ and to baptise them with water and the Holy Spirit, providing soul care and cultivating a warm fellowship in which everyone shall experience the love of God and the joy of serving Him and others.

The New Apostolic Church in Western Germany ↑

The New Apostolic Church in Western Germany is hosting the International Youth Convention 2019. It is one of four New Apostolic districts in Germany. The New Apostolic Church has the status as a public corporation in all of the Federal German states. The church’s president (and thus head) of the New Apostolic Church in Western Germany is its District Apostle; currently Rainer Storck.

The New Apostolic Church in Western Germany has around 115,000 members. They meet in more than 520 congregations.
