How do you keep passion, emotion and enthusiasm alive after more than ten years? The proof comes from the GospelproJekt: with Christ and captivating music it’s possible.
As news of the European Youth Day reached Sachsen/Thüringen in 2009 the youth choir of the Gera, Gotha/Meiningen/Erfurt and Plauen districts agreed that they would add their contribution to that event. Their plans took shape and grew into a large choir, together with an orchestra and a band under the motto “3 Choirs, 100 voices and 40 instruments ... together for Jesus”. After one and a half years of intensive practice and live concerts they were ready for the EYD in Düsseldorf. The GospelproJekt performed then in Hall 7a.
It soon became clear that the GospelproJekt must continue beyond the EYD 2009. The next ten years were filled with rehearsals, gospel weekends, concerts, the production of two CDs, performances at a number of youth conventions and at outstanding events, such as the finale concert of the ICC 2014 in the Olympic Hall in Munich and an appearance in Plauen, where the Chief Apostle was also present.
Over the past ten years the GospelproJekt has grown into a sort of “gospel family” through its music, exactly as the motto “Philharmonic Worship” says.
After two further years of intensive rehearsals for the IYC 2019, the ensemble of choir, orchestra and band will perform in two concerts: “HERE I AM ... to praise & worship!”, on 30th May, and on 2nd June at the closing concert, “Thank You(th) – Final Praise & Worship”.
The GospelproJekt invites you to come and pray to God together in song and in music: to praise and worship Him! Allow yourself to be moved and uplifted by the music. The concerts will have gospel, spiritual, praise and worship music, which have been arranged for choir, orchestra and band, for you to enjoy. The final concert will be very special, where the GospelproJekt will express their thanks, not only to God, but also to all who were at the Youth Convention, who have helped to prepare it and make it as it was.
