Preparations for the first International Youth Convention of the New Apostolic Church are going well. Many programme items have now been fixed and are being set in the programme schedule by the coordinators. With more than 200 items altogether, it will include 300 hours of entertainment on-stage.
”We are fully booked up”, said a joyful Alfred Krempf, who is responsible for coordinatng the time and location of each event. So many contributions were sent in for the programme that there will be no opportunity to make repeats of any item. It also meant that not all contributors’ ideas could be used, which was very regrettable, but, on the other hand, the project group responsible for programme contents could be very pleased by the variety of items received. As Alfred Krempf, who is also a member of the executive planning team, explained at their meeting in January, “The complete exhibition centre is at our disposal, but at the end we will be limited by the event locations available for use”.
60 presentations and 30 workshops
Apart from the four major events in the ARENA, the participants can expect to choose between nine divine services and devotionals, a further five podium discussions, 60 presentations, 30 workshops in the CCD Süd (South) and 60 events in the Empowerment Centre in Hall 7.1 On top of this comes a wide variety of musical entertainment, with 16 musical items alone on the open air stage, 18 larger musical contributions in the halls 8b and 5 and 18 smaller musical items in the Congress Centre Süd.
Each of the locations provides for a parallel audience capacity of up to 41,000. Each visitor can take part in 16 hours worth of programme altogether. As Alfred Krempf promised, “Everyone can find a programme item of their choice, if they want”.
Places can be reserved from May
Reservations must be made in advance, however, for the smaller programme events, so that the situation doesn’t arise where 500 people stand at a door waiting to enter a workshop room which has access for just 20 people. Therefore, it will be possible from May for each participant to reserve a place at up to three smaller events – another important reason to register early for the Youth Convention. This is done through the profile which each participant must create in the registration process.
