The motto of the International Youth Convention 2019, “Here I am”, symbolises and represents the Church, its congregations and the Youth Convention. The young Christians are the present and the future of the New Apostolic Church, which is why the Church wishes that they play a major part in decision-making of the contents and programme for the International Youth Convention. Therefore, all your ideas for the programme can now be sent in, starting from 27th October, 2017.
There will be 90,000 square metres available at the International Youth Convention 2019 for display and presentation stands and stages in seven different halls and for over 25 hours, waiting to be filled with your programme. Now, all young Christians are called upon to come forward, as music groups, as solo artists or as lecture/discussion speakers, encouraged District Apostle Rainer Storck, head of the New Apostolic Church in North Rhine-Westphalia, as host of the event. “You can register yourself for a display, a presentation, show a film, appear on one of the stages, make street music and much, much more”, he continued.
A connection to the motto would be great
The entries which the youth send in should have a theme which connects to the motto of the International Youth Convention, “Here I am”, where possible – although this connection can be quite loosely interpreted. “It would be great if the youth groups were to consider just what the motto means for them, and how they could present it in their entry”, said District Apostle Storck.
The survey on the internet website and in the app
The survey, which has deliberately been kept simple and is clearly laid out, will shortly be available on the internet pages www.iyc2019.org and will appear a little later via the app. Anyone who wants to add their input must firstly create a small profile, giving the usual contact details. The person concerned must be contactable if questions should arise, and he or she can follow the status of his/her completed entry.
The programme planners are not only interested in the entry title and a description, but also for which target group the item is intended, for the space, or stage requirements and for the category, or topic, into which the entry will fit.
The closing period for your entries is summer of 2018. It would make the work in planning much easier, however, if your ideas were sent in by the beginning of 2018.
